Also called white grapefruit, the Marsh skin is light yellow and the flesh is almost white, usually seedless, tender and very juicy. The taste is not bitter.
The red grapefruit has a sweeter flavour than the white grapefruit due to greater balance between sugar level and acidity. Its skin will show a pale pink blush and the juicy flesh goes from red to red-blushed colours. The red colour comes from lycopene, a cancer-fighting antioxidant.
